Help Cruz Fight ATRT Cancer
Donation protected
On Christmas Eve, our world shattered. Our beautiful 4-month-old son, Cruz, was rushed to emergency at PCH. Within hours, our greatest fear became reality—we were told Cruz had a large tumour in his cerebellum. Days later, we heard the words no parent should ever have to hear: Cruz has an aggressive brain cancer called AT/RT.
In just a few short weeks, our brave little boy has endured three major brain surgeries. The first to relieve pressure on his brain, the second to remove the tumour, and the third to insert a permanent shunt to manage his brain fluid.
And now, at only four months old, he’s facing the fight of his life. In February, he will begin a brutal 9-month treatment plan, including high-dose chemotherapy and proton radiation therapy in Florida. The chemotherapy our tiny baby will endure is nothing but the stuff of nightmares. AT/RT is aggressive and tough to combat. Anything & everything will be thrown at Cruz in an attempt to kill this horrid disease.
The battle ahead is long, painful, and filled with unimaginable uncertainty—but we refuse to give up hope.
As parents, all we want is to hold our baby close and fight alongside him. With the intensity of his treatment, neither of us can return to work. Additionally, Cruz will likely require high level rehabilitation & ongoing neurological treatment / gene therapy to ensure this awful cancer never returns. We are humbly asking for help—any donation, big or small, will allow us to stay by Cruz’s side, giving him the love & required treatment he needs to get through this.
There is nothing I could ever do to repay you for your kindness & generosity. Please just know that we are beyond grateful. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us in this fight.
