Portalmania 2020
Donation protected
Animal shelters are stressful places for cats, and it's so much worse when they are housed in small cages, with nowhere to stretch out and no space between their eating and sleeping areas and the litterbox. The solution is portals - a way to turn two small cages into one humane housing unit. Shelter after shelter, as well as published studies, have found that portals are the single most effective way to decrease stress and illness. That results in faster adoptions and less euthanasia. The Ontario Shelter Medicine Association has partnered with the Million Cat Challenge to offer free portals to animal shelters across Canada. While shelter occupancy rates are low, this is the perfect time to refurbish those cages and improve welfare for tens of thousands of cats in the future. Shor-Line have generously provided portals at a deep discount, so your donations will go directly toward the purchase, with no overheads. We've had so many applications that we've quickly run out of funds. We're looking for donations to be able to offer more portals to more shelters, to help more cats.
