We Can't Wait

Please help us in our campaign to fight for all of our We Can't Wait auto crash survivors whose care givers, therapies and many other necessities have been stripped as a result of the 45% cut to reimbursements.  It has caused our providers to go out of business or not able to absorb the cuts.  Consequently there is no one to care for us and we aren't receiving the services promised.  We are setting up an intense media campaign as well as other marketing materials to enable us to have an impact on this injustice.  We have to make the lawmakers and others aware of these devastating consequences to survivors.    Due to your support, we are able to do even more! The goal of $35,000 has been met and we will continue the fight with more ads and marketing, and have increased the goal to $40,000. THANK YOU!! 

We Can’t Wait is a Facebook Group of auto crash survivors, families, providers, and friends who have banded together to fix the devastating consequences of 2019 auto no-fault reform (PA21) which went into effect July 2, 2021. The reform slashed reimbursement rates for attendant care, nursing and therapeutic care as well as other necessities by 45%. The other impact is a 56-hour cap on family provided care.

This is destroying survivors, families, caregivers and businesses. Many providers have either gone out of business or discharged their no-fault clients because they cannot absorb the 45% cut. There is an immense shortage of caregivers. The result is many catastrophically injured survivors requiring 24/7 care are left without care. And other survivors are being warehoused in nursing homes, hotels, staying in rehab facilities or dropped off at emergency departments. Many family members are attempting to provide care, but the number of hours required is draining them physically and emotionally. Others are cashing in their life savings to make up the deficit.

As if that’s not bad enough, insurance companies are denying or rejecting payments because of incorrect codes or are using any excuse they can find to delay payments. This too drives the remaining providers out of business or leaves the family stuck with the bill.

So this is truly a case of David against Goliath. But we are not giving up. We’re mad as he** and we are not going to take it anymore!!
