Help Ken Kick Cancer!
My dad is the most humble, modest, genuine, caring, self-sacrificing, generous, consistent, positive, faithful, loving father, grandfather, husband and friend that I know. He’s one of a kind, everybody’s friend and where you go when you just need a smile or a hug that says “I’m listening, I understand and I’m here for you”.
When he was unable to shake a lingering dry cough in early 2019, my mom brought him in to get his lungs checked out. They found some suspicious areas, but surprisingly not only in his lungs, they were also in his left and right kidneys, adrenal gland and pancreas. To our family’s dismay, he was officially diagnosed with left malignant cystic renal cell carcinoma the first week of October.
Surgery is the only option and it must be done at Moffit in Tampa, FL as they specialize in exactly what he needs...which is to try to keep some of the left kidney just in case tumors present in the right later. They’ll be continuing to watch his other organs closely too.
To prepare for the surgery he needed to have a simple cardiac check to make sure his heart was strong enough. Unfortunately, they found an artery 85% blocked and had to put an emergency stint in, so the kidney surgery was postponed until December 30th.
Here’s where your prayers and support are greatly needed and appreciated... My parents, although 71 and 75 years young, run a catering business where my dad is my mom’s right-hand man (he actually always has been for 52 years of marriage). He will be out of commission for a few months while kicking this cancer, and we just found out that my mom has been working for 6 months on a broken ankle and fibula!
This is a very difficult time for them and they would NEVER personally solicit financial help from family or friends (in fact to this day they still try to buy my dinner or pay for my tolls when I visit them). So on their behalf, I have started this account to help offset their medical expenses, so they can get back on their feet again and continue to share their smiles with the world!
A contribution of any amount would be a blessing to them. Please pray & share this to as many networks as possible.
A heartfelt thanks from my family to yours!
