Save the Music

Hello music lovers. Eric here. Three years ago I reinvented Music Matters to be a fully encompassing classic record shop adding all formats and genres to expand its inventory and vibe to be a safe place and space for everyone to come together and be themselves and bond with each over through our love of music. In addition the shop has become a radio show with 72 episodes under its belt and a concert venue with over 25 free live shows for local not for profit organizations so far. I loved being able to once again try to make the music shop the epicenter of the local community and to give back as often as I could, and I’m hoping to have more time in the future to continue to do so. I feel we’ve been successful in bringing us all together, However even though we survived covid the last three months have been brutal on mom & pop shops and sadly the little engine that could is out steam. It was very difficult on me to have to create this page, but the alternative was an even more difficult one to process. With that said, Im Reaching out now to the community and my friends who have all become part of the “Music Matters Remixed” family to help keep the shop open and alive, for it would be heartbreaking after almost 35 years to have such an iconic local institution see an end of era. I have put my faith up to the Universe that if it’s meant to be saved and flourish it will, but in reality without funding the struggle has become very real. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this and even more so for all of those who have supported both incarnations of the shop over the decades. Without you, we don’t exist ….
