Jacqueline Dickinson is a long-time resident of West Boylston, where she has run her small business, Jacqueline’s Hair Salon, for the last two decades out of the former Oakdale Post Office.

To know Jackie is to love her. She is a dedicated mother to her three teenage sons, a devoted wife, and an asset to her local community where she volunteers in her free time, keeping the town beautiful over the years helping the garden club, maintaining the island in Oakdale for over 20 years, and keeping up the facility and grounds for the veterans at High Plains Cemetery.

Recently, Jackie received the devastating news from her doctor that due to complications from collapsing degenerative discs in her spine, it is time for her to close up shop on the business that she has built her life around and pivot careers to something less demanding on her posture.

Simultaneously, she has been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer and will be undergoing a lumpectomy. Between the MRIs, biopsies, physical therapy, and forthcoming surgeries, the unexpected medical bills are already beginning to pile up.
