MIKE’s FIGHT!
Medical Benefit for Mike Dess, Havre MT
In the early hours of the morning on September 8 Mike was admitted to the hospital and sent to Great Falls MT. He had just returned from a vacation that sadly he was unable to enjoy due to pain in his abdomen. At that time he didn’t know what was going on except that he was in a lot of pain and not feeling well at all. He was very sick.
After a surgery that led to a stent being put in his bile duct and then a CT scan.... On September 10 we were told 5 words that destroyed our world ... UNFORTUNATELY. WE. FOUND. A. MASS Words that we were not prepared for and will never forget.
Things have started to happen very quickly, last week he spent a few days in Kalispell for another surgery and had a chemo port inserted into his chest. He will be starting chemo this week. Everyone who knows Mike knows how hard he works. He will not be able to work while going through chemo and will hopefully be having surgery sometime after Christmas to remove a tumor on his pancreas. After that surgery he will continue to have chemo. He’s determined to beat this ugly disease that no one deserves to have.
The financial burden is going to be great as Mike still has all his regular bills and now will have to travel for doctors appointments, chemo etc. All of this without a income.
It is going to be a hard winter. I know he has so many friends and family that would like to help lessen the stress and worry he has financially. WE LIVE IN A WONDERFUL LITTLE COMMUNITY AND I KNOW WE CAN HELP HIM GET THROUGH THIS.
This is a very hard cancer to beat but we have faith and Mike is strong!! His story is not over.
Thank you everybody for your support and prayers. We will provide updates as often as possible. KEEP PRAYING
