CA Lookouts Police & Fire baseball team
The California Lookouts Police & Fire Baseball Team was established in 2014. It is made up of first responders from the law enforcement and firefighting community, from across Southern California.
The agencies represented are Los Angeles Police Department, Pomona Police, Colton Police, California Highway
Patrol, Los Angeles County Sheriff, Orange County Sheriff, Riverside County Sheriff, Garden Grove Police,
Los Angeles World Airports Police, University of Southern California Police, El Monte Police,
California Department of Justice, and Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The purpose of the California Lookouts Police Baseball Team was to offer first responders the ability to participate in a sport that many of them have been playing for the majority of their lives.
The challenges these Law Enforcement Officers and Fire Fighters face on a daily basis can be a harsh struggle. The team has built a camaraderie that is enjoyed both on and off the field.
During these unprecedented times the team offers a sense of normalcy for the players and an outlet from the daily stressors they experience while serving the communities they work for.
The California Lookouts Police Baseball Team have participated in the United States Police and Fire
Championships, Nevada Police and Fire Championships, Dallas Police and Fire World Series, World Police and Fire Olympics, and the LAPD Wild West Tournaments.
Playing in these tournaments requires travel, registration fees, uniforms, and equipment.
We will be travelling to Dallas this October 2020 to compete in the Dallas Police and Fire World Series but we do
need some help.
We realize that our current environment can be uncertain for most families and businesses and we want to make sure we are sensitive to the fact that this may not necessarily be a hardship type of cause. Saying "Thank You" to All Who Serve
Operation Gratitude annually sends 300,000+ care packages filled with food, hygiene products, entertainment and handmade items, plus personal letters of support, addressed to individual Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines
deployed overseas, to their children left behind, and to Veterans, New Recruits, First Responders, Wounded
Heroes and their Caregivers.
We've chosen this charity for the fact that some of our teammates and many members of the Law Enforcement and Firefighting community are Military Veterans who served our great country and Operation Gratitude rates the
highest in dollars donated directly going to helping service member's families with their hardships. In keeping with our dedication to serving, our goal is to help our team with costs and additionally to give back to the Military
Veteran community.
