LUCAS'S BIG BATTLE

Little Lucas (6mths) came home from Sydney today with his Mummy and Daddy and big brother Jaxon (3).
He has just had his second Open Heart Surgery at Westmead Childrens Hospital. The first surgery was when he was just two days old.
We first met his Mum & Dad, Michelle & Saul Pickett four years ago when they moved into the house next door. Their first baby boy, Jaxon, was totally unexpected and a beautiful surprise. Shortly afterwards they were blessed with the news that they were expecting again.
This time with a baby girl.
Unfortunately their sweet little girl, Iyla Lynn, was too beautiful for this world and the Angels came and took her away at just 28 weeks.
Then a miracle happened quite suddenly and Shell & Saul discovered they were pregnant again.
This baby turned out to be another boy (Lucas) and was a welcome surprise that also helped to mend their broken hearts.
Sadly during one of Shell's routine scans, they discovered that Lucas's heart wasn't formed properly and the news was devastating. (No they didn't terminate as advised).
And so the endless journeys to Westmead Children's Hospital in Sydney began.
Claude and I would like to see if it is possible to raise some funds to help this young family.
Saul has had to put their mortgage and other payments on hold while they were in Sydney for 2 months for Lucas's birth in March this year. Michelle hasn't been able to go back to work because she needed to be with Lucas at home, so they are trying to keep their heads above water on a single income, with bills piling up all around them.
We have watched these two lovely people, our neighbours, struggle through the depths of despair to carry on as normally as possible for their boy Jaxon and his little brother Lucas.
So this is our way of trying to help them with more than just our love and support.
I am not sure how this 'gofundme' page really works as I have never done anything like this before, but I need to try and see if my family and friends can help us raise some funds for this beautiful family.
