Cade Hunt's Leukemia Fund
Donation protected
On August 28th, 2017 our 7 year old grandson Cade Hunt went to the doctor because he said his bones hurt and he was really tired. A quick Google search told us that growing pains are very common for his age, and he had really shot up in height in the last couple months so we were thinking that growing pains could easily be the problem. Even though it had only been going on for a week or two, mom and dad (David and Jennifer Hunt) were concerned enough to have the doctor take a look. A quick blood test changed all of our lives when we found out that Cade has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Within an hour we were on our way to OHSU-Doernbechers where he would be given numerous tests to confirm the diagnosis and determine the best course of treatment.
At this point we have been told that Cade will be staying at OHSU-Doernbechers for about 1 week for the initial treatment. Unfortunately, because of the type of leukemia he has his treatment will take about 3 years to complete. This means going to OHSU twice per week for a period of time and then transitioning to a weekly appointment.
We are setting a goal of $20,000 for uncovered medical expenses, travel expenses, and lost wages. Cades parents both work full time jobs and have been supported by their employers, but they are not expecting their employers to be able to support all of the time off that will be required over the three year period while Cade is being treated.
Please consider giving a donation of any amount to help with the three years worth of expenses.
Thank You in advance,
Chris Hunt (Grandpa Chris)
