Caden Bowyer ~ Fighting Cancer

Caden Michael Bowyer, 14 years old

During a routine physical on August 5th, 2022 Caden's doctor found a tumor they suspected to be cancerous. They moved quickly to remove the tumor just 3 days later on August 8th, followed by a PET scan. On August 12th at the post op check up for the surgery, biopsy and scan, they received the news no parent or child should have to hear. Caden has cancer and it has spread to his lymph nodes. Caden was referred to Helen Devos childrens hospital for treatment which will begin on August 23rd and require Caden to be hospitalized for 1 week of chemotherapy treatment followed by at least 1 chemotherapy treatment weekly for 3 weeks. He'll repeat this treatment schedule for 3 months at which time his medical team will evaluate his progress.

Caden lives with his father Bruce Bowyer, stepmother Melissa and younger brother Levi in Whitehall 50% of the time and attends Whitehall High School where he is an honor roll student. He enjoys basketball, football, track, wrestling, camping and fishing.

Caden is a member of Bridge Bible Church and attends with his father, stepmother and brother as often as possible. On September 8th, 2019 Caden accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior. He claims the promise:

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Philippians 4:13.

Although his father has ensured that his medical expenses are completely covered thanks to a supplemental insurance offered by Cadens medical case manager that will cover deductibles and co-pays of his existing policy, the family will still face financial hardship due to lost wages and expenses related to traveling out of town for Cadens many treatments.
