Caeli and Þeyr Rep the US at World Championships!

Recently I got some very exciting news: Þeyr and I were selected to represent the United States at the World Championships in Oirschot Netherlands! It is a huge honor and we are very excited to represent the US Icelandic Horse community on the international stage. This is something that is really close to my heart as I have grown up through the United States competition scene and I think it is so important that we have a strong US-based contingent at international events to showcase the growth and development of Icelandic Horse sports in the United States. I'm especially proud to be showing Þeyr, a horse that I have worked with and developed for 7 years, from being my Holar exam partner for the first and third year and performing liberty at Laufskalarett and Landsmot to competing across the US and pacing through fire he has been an amazing partner through everything I have asked of him.

We have had a great showing season in 2022, including topping the US National Ranking in Five Gait and receiving the highest number of nominations internationally for Good and Harmonious Riding at World Ranking events. We think we have a decent shot of continuing our success on the international stage.

However, going to the Netherlands and back is extremely expensive. The most costly part is flying Þeyr over and back, but other costs accrue too such as lodging, flights for me, transport for Þeyr to and from the airport and boarding in Europe. That is why we are appealing to our community to help get us there and home again! Small amounts really add up! Thank you so much for your support.
