Caesar's Blood Transfusion

Hi, my name is Nicole. Recently, our 3-year-old Alaskan Malamute, Caesar, got a little mass on his leg that wouldn't stop bleeding. Then he began to have very bloody diarrhea.

We took him to his regular vet to get him checked out as soon as they had an opening, where they did a couple blood tests. The results told us he has 0 platelets. His immune system is attacking them, so his blood will not clot. We ended up having to take him to the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph.

The estimated cost is $5000-$7000, which will cover his time there (a few days), medications, extra blood work, blood transfusion, ultrasounds, and any investigative procedures needed.

We still don't know what caused the issue, and any help will be greatly appreciated.
