Susan Needs Your Help
Donation protected
Susan, my wife and mom to our 5 boys, faces a rare and hard-to-treat disease called Amyloidosis (am-uh-loi-DO-sis). It attacks healthy organs, often requiring organ transplants and stem cell transplants. Because it's so rare (only affecting 4000 people each year), it's essential to be treated at a "center of excellence." She has also been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. There are only 6 Centers in the US that have dedicated Amyloidosis Centers. We have decided to get Susan's initial consult at the Boston University Medical Center with a follow up at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN. This is far from home, but there really isn't any choice.
Susan has always been a fighter and is taking this head-on. Her lifetime commitment to a healthy diet, exercise, and lifestyle gives her an excellent foundation to battle these Illnesses. Make no mistake, Susan is in a battle for her life, and we need your help.
We are unsure what our insurance will cover. The travel and lodging expenses will be considerable, requiring lengthy stays away from home. Please consider making a donation and/or possibly contacting us if you can spare some travel miles toward accommodations and flights.
Thank you for help and support in this fight.
Gratefully,
