Caiden and Leslie’s BG Tornado Relief Fund

On December 11th at roughly 1 am we woke up to Tornado Sirens blaring. By 1:18 we were lucky enough to be in our downstairs bathroom with all three of our beloved furbabies. We were anxiously watching the trees across the street in anticipation for what would happen next. As the hail came down on the camera, you could see a huge tree bend in half, start to rise back up, then bend again. That’s when we knew things were about to get really ugly. We huddled down and put our arms around each other and held our breath as the tornado ravaged our home and neighborhood. At 1:21 the worst of it was over and we would end up spending the next several hours working on safely evacuating both ourselves and our furbabies from the neighborhood. It took less than five minutes for the Category Three tornado to destroy everything we have worked so hard for. The things we saw and experienced will follow us for the rest of our lives but we were beyond lucky to have survived with minimal injury. Unfortunately, we have lost pretty much everything and are being forced to start anew. While we do have insurance, we are afraid this will not cover the entire cost of rebuilding our lives. We are asking for any donations at this time in an effort to get ourselves back on track. We are fortunate enough to have aid from the company we work for, but these extra funds will help us find a new apartment and help with all the fees associated with setting up a new place. We would also like to have all of our animals looked at by our vet to ensure that they are okay and won’t sustain any long term health problems. We are also concerned our insurance will not total our car, even with all the damage it has sustained. We know so many are in need right now so literally anything is helpful. During these awful few days we have seen and felt the love of our community first hand and are beyond grateful for anything given, even if they have only been words of encouragement to help push us through. Any leftover funds would be donated to organizations working in response to this natural disaster as well. Thank you all so much for the support, it means the world to our family. #Bowlinggreenstrong
