Cairngorm Mountain Rescue - Marathon Row
On average Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team (CMRT) will respond to 45 callouts a year, totalling 3000 man hrs, these callouts can range from a couple of hours to multi day searches. We want to do our part to raise the funds necessary to attend these vital callouts.
To help raise funds we will be completing, in teams, a marathon of rowing here at CrossFit Cairngorm. Teams will complete 42,195m on the Row Erg as fast as they can, taking between 3-4 hours.
Donate here to support this cause and the local gym members who are working hard to support it.

Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team (CMRT) are based at St Columbas Rescue Base, Inverdurie, Aviemore. It is here that we coordinate our rescues which are predominantly in the Northern Cairngorms.
The vast area that CMRT cover includes the Northern side of the Cairngorms National Park, Ben Alder to the south and into the Monadhliath Mountains to the East Side of Loch Ness and some the most remote wilderness at the highest elevations.
The team is made 40 volunteers, who give their time freely to help those in need of aid in the mountains.
CMRT's main area of operation is the Cairngorm Plateau and the surrounding Coires, this is incredible beautiful area but it can also be the most inhospitable place in the british isles with the highest winds speeds recorded at 173mph. CMRT regularly conduct rescues in near zero visibility, blizzards and hurricane force winds.
