Get Cal Hurling Team to the National Championships

Cal Hurling Team is asking for your help to get us to the NCGAA National Hurling Championships, which will be held in Salt Lake City, Utah over the weekend 16th-18th March 2024. This event will bring together teams from across the United States to represent their colleges in hurling at the national level. Cal Hurling Team is the official hurling team representing the University of California at Berkeley.

The NCGAA National Championships have been running for over fifteen years, and is the most important event in the US Gaelic sporting calendar. The Championship game will be televised across the US via regional sports networks, and in Ireland on Irish-language broadcaster TG4. This is a very important event for the Hurling Club at Berkeley, and we would be so grateful for your help so we can participate!

Cal Hurling Club is a co-ed sports team, practicing and competing in the Irish national sport, hurling. The Hurling Club existed from 2010-2020, but was sadly disbanded due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We have just re-formed the Club in 2023, and our team currently numbers 15+ active players who train every week. Before our team was suspended, we won the National Championships in 2013, 2011 and 2010. We are ready this year to reclaim our title!

We are hoping to take a team of fifteen players to the National Championships, comprising a thirteen-player team and two substitutes. Your help with funding would mean everything to our team. Your funding would be used to reimburse any player that has paid for their participation in the tournament out-of-pocket, pay directly for those who cannot afford that cost, and help pay for our stylish match kit.
