Caleb Lee Gatlin funeral

Losing a family member is hard.  Losing your first born son is devastating.

My son Caleb Lee Gatlin was born on 12/15/191.  He lost his battles with the
things that were haunting him on 6/20/2020.  Caleb was a funny, caring and warm person.  He loved football more then most anything else.  I coached Caleb from 8 years old, until he reached high school.  All through his Pop Warner days he would tell me that he wanted to be a quarterback.  I kept telling him that he was no
quarterback.  Well, when he entered high school he was the backup QB on his
team.  The 2nd game of the year,  the starting QB got hurt and Caleb was put in.
He ended up throwing a touchdown pass to a player that was a teammate of
Caleb's in Pop Warner.  He came off the field beaming saying "See dad, I told you I was a quarterback".   That is one of many memories I will forever hold onto. After high school, Caleb was having problems finding his
way.  He took a few jobs here and then and then moved with a friend to Indiana
for a year.  Caleb suffered a very serious injury to his hand while working at a
glass shop and endured many operations to save his fingers and the use of them.
I think that really got to Caleb, as he was never the same.  He battled so many
issues, including mental breakdowns, and many visits to many hospitals. 

Getting the news of his death was devastating.  I kind of went into robot mode
and just made arrangements on auto pilot.  Asking for donations to help offset his funeral expenses is not an easy thing to do.  I have struggled with it for a while.
