Dear all,

As you may have seen, the family and friends of Caleb would love to invite you to the UK Memorial service at St Paul's Hammersmith, London – 2pm (GMT) on Saturday 26 February, 2022 to celebrate and remember his extraordinary life. Due to Covid it has been a long-awaited two years to be able to have a memorial service here in the UK. We would love to mark this anniversary with his friends far and wide - providing the opportunity to gather, share stories and truly celebrate Caleb. The service will also be live streamed for those who can’t make it in-person but would still like to join us https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mF2CpHm81zs

So far your generous donations have been spent on costs associated with Caleb's passing. The remaining funds and any additional donations will contribute towards the Caleb Andrew Meakins Foundation (CAMF) to continue the work and legacy of Caleb and his father Andrew. We will share more information about the Foundation in the coming months.

Thank you so much for all your support.

with love,

The Meakins

As most of you know Caleb was due to catch a flight to London on the evening of 20th February when he was in a serious car accident. He has experienced a severe head injury but to what extent this has impacted his function is not known yet. He has skull fractures on the left side and back of his head as well as one on his first cervical vertebrae (1st neck bone). He has also had issues with his lungs, both of which have collapsed at different times.

After two surgeries they were able to close up his open skull fractures, remove a blood clot from the back of his head and insert two chest drains into his lungs. Caleb is now stable and showing positive signs. We are hoping and praying for a full recovery but there is still many unknowns and a long path ahead.  So many of you have reached out and asked if you can support Caleb financially and others have already given generously which has led us to set up this fundraising page. We plan for any funds raised to go towards medical bills, rehabilitation and flights to get him back to the UK as soon as he is stable and it is safe to do so. For those that want to give locally in Ethiopia please contact Mercy at [email redacted].

Thank you so much for those who have already given and are praying faithfully for Caleb. It really is overwhelming to know how many people are rallying around him. There is a large group of us permanently camped out in the hospital in Addis willing him on. Saturday felt like the church had relocated to the hospital cafeteria as we sang and prayed for Caleb.

We will be giving regular updates on this page with the latest on Caleb's progress.
