Caleb Valdez's FIGHT with Ewing's Sarcoma
Donation protected
Update: Thank you all for the support that has been coming in! The family is forever grateful! Caleb heads back into the hospital tomorrow for a 6 day stay for treatment. The last round was shorter and he managed it well. Please keep the healing thoughts and prayers coming as well as sharing this page! Thank everyone! You got this Caleb!
We are starting this fund raiser to help our dear friend Caleb and his family. Caleb was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma on December 6, 2023, at the age of 19. Ewing's Sarcoma is a rare form of bone cancer mostly effecting children and only about 200 children and teens are diagnosed in the US each year.
For Caleb this started out with what he and his family thought was an injured knee. After several medical appointments and persistence, they received the terrifying diagnosis.
Caleb started his path to treatment on December 11th with more tests, biopsies and surgery to place his port for Chemo. He is currently in his first stay of many at the hospital.
For 25 weeks Caleb will be alternating between 2 day and 6 day stays in the hospital for treatment with a week off in between them. Week 13 will be the next big week for tests to determine if the next step is radiation or surgery.
He is in great hands at Children's Hospital with doctors that treat children from all over the country with this form of cancer.
Caleb's mother Naomi, stepfather Matt, siblings Tanner, Lexi and Savhanna, his girlfriend Brooklyn and all of his other family and friends are surrounding him with so much LOVE.
What they need from us is the financial support so that is one less thing they need to worry about. Caleb's treatment costs will reach into the 100s of thousands when he is done and beats this thing! Further complicating things is that Caleb is an adult and has adult expenses. He will not be able to fully work during treatment. He needs to focus on getting better!
Caleb and his family are not the type to ask for help. They are usually the ones helping! But we are asking for them. (Caleb even said that if there is any money left over, he plans to donate to childhood cancer research!)
Please donate what you can! The family is forever grateful for any and all support - no matter how big or small.
Thank you!
