Caleb's Leukemia Journey
As many of you already know, David & Melanie Sletten's oldest son, Caleb, was recently diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia on October 28th. They were admitted to the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital in Minneapolis on October 31st and Caleb began chemotherapy treatment on November 2nd.
Caleb's diagnosis was a very sudden shock to the family. Compounding this initial shock was the news they will likely be in Minneapolis for approximately the next 6 months, if not longer, while Caleb undergoes treatment. This is a very sudden and daunting long-term adjustment that all five of them are facing.
This GoFundMe account has been set up to provide a convenient and tangible avenue for friends and family to support the Sletten Family through this difficult journey. In addition to obvious medical expenses, daily living and travel expenses will be significant during this time. David will eventually need to return to work in Spearfish, SD and will be making the trip to and from Minneapolis while Caleb undergoes treatment for the next several months.
Monetary assistance, in addition to prayers, letters, and visits from friends and family during this time will be a great encouragement to David & Melanie, for which they will be profoundly thankful.
