Kicking cancers butt for Newbury Cancer Care

Hi!

 

My name is Julia and I am part of an amazing group who are fundraising in the name of cancer! We are preparing for our biggest, craziest event yet, our “calendar girls” photo shoot! We have over 40 ladies who will take part in a fun, wobbly, emotional photo shoot all to raise the vital funds needed to keep our local cancer unit going. 

 

All this was started by the amazing Karen and here it is in her own words.

 

”I am a huge supporter of the incredible, local charity....

 

`NEWBURY CANCER CARE`.

 

The support they have provided, and continue to provide for the West Berkshire Community is amazing,

Many, many people have been affected by cancer in their lives, whether it be the journey of a loved one, or perhaps their own journey.

My beloved Dad, Tony, spent his final days in one of the `Rainbow Rooms` , an invaluable resource provided by the charity.

This meant so much to us, as a family, as we were able to spend precious time with him, `around the clock`, with me even being able to spend a couple of nights sleeping alongside him.

Now, we are nearly two years on, and I`m on my own `cancer journey`

The charity are there for me, and my family constantly, providing both, practical help and advice.

All that they do for so many people, but they have no financial assistance....they rely entirely on public support.

I have pledged to raise at least £10 , 000 for them over the next two years....a lot of money, but I know it can be done.

So, here we go....

£10, 000...WE`RE COMING FOR YOU.....”

 

This is a fundraiser with a twist though. We will being giving gifts to our givers! These include some of the first edition calendars, a book by a local author, pamper packages and many many more!

 

So please, dig deep and help Karen and her team of calendar girls to give back to a truest worthy charity.
