California Artist Emergency COVID-19 Funding

Hello Friends and Family,
The artist community here in California is full of vast inspiration alongside a life mostly lived on the road. Most of us traveling 30-45 weekends per year to support ourselves through offering our creations. Our art is our passion, it is in our hearts and in our souls. With the sweeping cancellation of events that has occurred for the next 3 months or more, the impact upon us is staggering and growing.
As of Thursday March 19, California became the first state in the country to order Shelter in Place for its 40 million residents. As traveling artists our income is reliant almost exclusively upon face to face interaction and sales. In addition to the inability to generate current and future revenue, we all sent out massive payments earlier in the year for the shows to come. We have been floored by this financially and our monthly expenses are mounting.
As creators it is up to us to ‘create’ our paycheck every weekend. The ability to go out and get a job is becoming less likely with the shelter in place order. We are survivors and we will make it, but it won’t be easy. If you have it in your hearts and in your means, please consider helping out with our emergency fundraiser. This funding is geared toward helping a select group of 10 professional California artists whose finances have been directly impacted by the Covid-19. You may know all of us or 1-2 of us. We are all in the same boat with selling our art as being our only source of income for us and our families.
We are seeking to raise $88,000 over the next 90 days or longer if need be. This fund will help us out with meeting our daily needs for survival for individuals and our families: rent, food, utilities and medical. We will be disbursing the funds equally amongst the group. Funds will be distributed via PayPal or Venmo. The timeline will be bi-weekly as funds become available.
We cannot express how grateful we all are in regards to the community, friendship and support that you’ve all given us over the years. We hope that you are healthy, safe and have support in these uncertain times. Once this settles down, we greatly look forward to seeing you WITHIN 6 feet of each other and hugging.
