Callie the Mini Dox IVDD surgery

Hi,

We are Callie and Alyssa, we are a duo who live in Astoria, NY together! Callie is a 6 year old long haired mini-dachshund. Anyone who has met callie can attest to how full spirited, sassy, but loving, snuggly and will lick your face to show her appreciation. Callie was diagnosed with IVDD, which if you don’t know is a disease that’s common in dachshunds. It causes their discs to be brittle and are prone to rupture. Last year she was paralyzed from a slipped disc and required emergency surgery. Callie made an almost full recovery of all motor function. Unfortunately 2 days ago she exhibited the same horrible symptoms of paralysis, she was rushed to the vet where an MRI confirmed another ruptured disc in her back. Surgery was done today and she is recovering in the hospital. These surgeries while lifesaving are and unexpected burden on our family. Any donations made will directly go to pay callie’s hospital bill. Anything will help us get through this.
