Calling All Tigers! Mrs. Sierra Needs Our Help!

Donation protected
Dear NSS Community,

One of our own needs our help. Last Friday, June 9th, our beloved first grade teacher Mrs. Caitlyn Sierra underwent a heart transplant surgery at Yale.

Mrs. Sierra joined our Tiger Team as a long-term substitute for First Grade in the 2020-2021 school year. She taught Kindergarten for the 2021-2022 school year and moved up with many of her students to teach First Grade again this school year. She and her husband Raul welcomed their son Mateo on March 31st and she has been on leave since. She also has two stepchildren, daughter Nahara and son Allessandro.

A few weeks ago, Caitlyn was hospitalized suddenly and unexpectedly and was told that she needed a heart transplant as soon as possible. Thankfully a donor was found and her surgery last Friday was successful. She is doing well and is in good spirits! But it will be a lengthy recovery and funds raised will help not only cover medical expenses, but ensure that Caitlyn’s family will be supported throughout.

Mrs. Sierra has touched so many of us in her three years here at NSS – we are all stunned at this development during those precious first few months with Mateo. Please donate what you can to assist and support Caitlyn and her family. Our love and support mean the world to her, just as her love and support has meant so much to so many of our children these last few years.

Let’s go Tigers!
