Cambodia - Camps International - 2024
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Riley, I’m in Year 10 at Joseph Rowntree School and I'm raising money for a 4 week volunteering trip with Camps International to Cambodia in the summer of 2024.
While in Cambodia I will aid rural communities by:
Education: Helping generations of children and babies by building a new school classroom or kindergarten.
Housing: Constructing vitally needed community housing from local materials for some of the most impoverished families.
Healthcare & sanitation: Improving the health of a whole community through installing and improving local amenities.
Food & water security: Installing new water supplies to ensure school children have access to fresh, clean drinking water.
Environmental protection: Replanting saplings in areas affected by deforestation.
Sustainable livelihoods: Building a dam to provide water for crops throughout the dry season.
Being able to help people where it's most needed whilst also enjoying a once in a lifetime trip would really mean a lot to me, and those in Cambodia. I’m really excited about this opportunity as it will really push me out of my comfort zone and be an incredible experience that would stay with me for a lifetime, whilst also hopefully making me feel proud whilst helping some of the less fortunate people of the world.
We will also spend a few days in the rainforest, visit the Angkor Wat temples and visit the S21 prison and killing fields.
I’m hoping to do some sponsored events that I’m still working out and will keep this page updated with what I’m doing and how my fundraising journey is going.
Thank you for any donations and thank you for reading.
