Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Digital Drive

Hi, I'm Phil from the Cambs Youth Panel and you've reached the GoFundMe page of the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Digital Drive.

The money that you donate here will be give to the Cambs Youth Panel to fund any tools and any components that we need to upgrade computers and extend the life of devices so that they can be given to children, young people and families.

The computers - usually laptop devices - are donated to us by large organisations across the county. Our young people volunteer to remove and change hard-drives for SSDs, reinstall operating systems, and generally get the devices ready for a second life in the hands of a new owner.

Sometimes we need to buy a new power supply. Sometimes we need to replace a battery. The modest cost of such parts can extend the life of a computer by years and give a child or a young person the opportunity to learn online skills, complete homework and participate in the digital environment.

Online opportunities are vital to young people and digital inequality is a terrible form of poverty that we have to fight against.

Please donate only what you can afford, but do so in the confidence that we have already supplied more than 1500 computers to children throughout Cambridgeshire & Peterborough - and with your help we will do it again.
