My beautiful niece Camella was in a car accident early this morning, March 22, 2019, while driving to work. She was hit head on by a drunk driver. Camella has several critical injuries because of the accident. She has a broken left arm, a broken left leg, and several little fractures in her cervical spine. We have not received all the details regarding all the injuries she sustained due to her ending up in surgery twice. She finally was out of her 2nd surgery at about 8:00 p.m. She is currently on a ventilator and several IV medications to help her with the pain and to help keep are sedated. Her husband Raul has been at her side and has been able to get her to respond to basic questions. As of 11:00 p.m. on the night of the accident, the doctors found that she had no circulation getting to her right hand. At that time, the doctor had called in a specialist to treat what they believe was compartment syndrome in her right hand. When the doctor arrived, the visitation was ceased for the day. Family are still waiting in the ICU waiting Room until they have the opportunity to be at her bedside. We will keep everyone updated as much as possible.
