Valley Fire Camel Rescue
Donation protected
The Valley Fire in Northern California has devastated the community of Cobb Mountain and the home of the Sacred Camel Garden herd. All of the camels, as well as the horses and goat are currently safe; however, the situation is dire and emergency supplies are needed immediately. Although the animals are safe, the pastures and hay burned, as well as their water tank and security fencing.
I have worked with the camels as well as the lead herdsman, Stuart Camps, and am raising funds to go directly to all the emergency needs of the Camels and their human helpers. As well as offer support to them for rebuilding of infrastructure.
Help support the Sacred Camel Herd and the men and women who have fought to save their lives and the surrounding properties. All funding from this campaign will go to get the following supplies to the area:
Immediate needs:
Hay: 2,000$ per month (we would like to get enough for at least 3 months supply)
Water (500-5000 gall tank) and pump: 2,000$
Food (for the men working)
Fencing to help keep the animals safe and enclosed:
Fencing is the most expensive immediate cost. We need 3-4miles of four strand high tensile fencing. The cost is approximately 1.24$ per foot. This comes to a total cost of roughly 26,188$
Future infrastructure rebuilding needs:
Hay storage sheds 3,000$
Barn space 10-15,000$
Camel maintenance supplies: hallters/leads etc.
There is a load of Hay on order to be delivered ASAP from Holdenried Harvesting Company in Kelseyville.
Much help will be needed both financially and on the ground to rebuild and support the devistated area.
These amazing camels have touched many lives.
