Commission original music by Greg Butcher

The Cameraygal Wind Symphony is a community band based in Lane Cove in Sydney, Australia.
We have an annual tradition of bringing in amazing Australian composers to work on their music with us. We've previously worked with Ralph Hultgren, Barrie Gott, and in 2018, we were lucky enough to be able to world premier a piece by a great local composer Brendan Collins. This year we're looking to commission a work ourselves to be created by the fantastic Australian composer, Greg Butcher.
A fourth-generation musician, Greg Butcher was born in Melbourne, 1962. He completed a Bachelor's Degree majoring in Ethnomusicology and Musicology at the University of New England. He also studied composition with Associate Professor Ann Ghandar (UNE), and conducting with Professor Jerry Nowak (USA).
We really enjoyed learning and performing Greg Butcher's "Music for a Jubilant Occasion" in the last year, so we feel he'd be able to create something great for our ensemble.
Your support for our campaign would mean that you are encouraging Australian music, composers and community bands, and we would really appreciate anything you can give. You will also be personally invited to our world premiere performance of this piece, so you can see the finished product.
