In Memory of Cameron Alston Jones

Donation protected
Hello,

My name is Martine Veien, and I am creating this campaign to support my husband, Aaron Jones, and his family after their father's recent passing. In this time of mourning, the last thing anyone should be worried about is finances and time off work. Yet here we are. I hope this campaign can help alleviate some of the financial pressure on Aaron and his siblings while they are in Florida dealing with Cameron's estate and funeral arrangements.

Sadly, Cameron Alston Jones passed away on Friday, February 10th, 2023. He leaves behind five exceptional children.

We have never made a GoFundMe before, and we recognize it may not amount to much. However, the truth is that any support we can raise in the next couple of days will make an exponential difference for Aaron and his family members. Sadly, Cameron did not carry life insurance at the time of his passing, so his children are facing extremely high costs with no ability to cover it all on their own. The charge for the funeral arrangements is already $5,200, and more things are bound to come up as they deal with Cameron's estate.

I may not have had the opportunity to meet Cameron in person, but I was grateful to have had a connection and relationship with him virtually over the years. If there is one thing I'm sure of, the last thing he would want to leave as part of his legacy is more hardship for his children.

I want to include a message that my husband wrote a few days after his father's passing:

"This is my Dad. Cameron Alston Jones was his name. He died Friday.

Relationships are complicated, family is complex, and being a human is hard.

There were years of distance between us at times, including years without seeing each other.

Over the past 10 years, we've done a lot of work to repair our relationship, but neither of us expected more from the person than they were capable of giving. One thing I'll always appreciate about our adult relationship is that we met each other where we were.

My father was the first person to ever break my heart, and one of the first to help me mend my broken heart after the breakdown of a very difficult romantic relationship in my youth.

Although we never got back around to seeing each other physically, we made progress to talking weekly with some video chats and held a lot of sacred space for each other. For this l, I am grateful.

One of the last things we said to each other is, "I LOVE YOU!"

That's powerful.

We loved each other in our own way.

Rest easy, Pops.

I've no regrets."

We genuinely appreciate any support you can contribute towards honoring Cameron's memory, but also recognize that these are extremely challenging times for everyone. But if you are willing to share the link to this page with your community, we would be very grateful. You never know who it may reach and what good could come from it!
