Veteran's Family Seeks Answers and Support

Donation protected
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and veteran, Bruce Erickson Cameron, passed away in his sleep in the early morning of Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 79 years old. He leaves behind his wife of fifty years, Carol; his three children, Chris, Stacey, and Bryan; Chris and his wife, Mahala's, two children, Rowan and Westley; Bryan's three children, Mathew, Brooke, and Meghan; and his brother, Dale. We, the family and friends left behind, need to pay for an autopsy to be done, to determine cause of death, and for cremation.

Bruce was a creative. He loved the arts and followed that path. From a young age he wanted to be a cartoonist for Disney.

He was a Sergeant in the United States Air Force during Vietnam, and his character of service was Honorable. He was stationed at Travis AFB in Fairfield, CA.

His lifelong career was for the City of Sacramento as Senior Engineering Technician. He designed roads and homes for work, and he loved to watercolor paint for fun. His most recent career was working for Lowe's in the Gardening section. He was a very hard worker.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from California State University, Sacramento.

Bruce's highest priority was always family. He was our rock. A perfectly complex human being. Cool, funny, intelligent, perceptive, free-thinking, humble, good and just in all the ways that truly matter. A remarkable person, because of his simplicity. Always the one that knew the right way to do something. For all involved to be happy and healthy.

This is just such a shock to us, and we need to know what happened to him and why. For someone so seemingly healthy and strong to drop so quick is just scary and sad. It's hard to get through each day because our hearts are just broken.

There was an issue with one of his heart medications, and we need the autopsy to tell us whether or not that was the main contributing factor. If someone is responsible, then they should be held responsible for the good of any future patients. It's just the right thing to do.

Dad always wanted to just be cremated so, that is what we are going to do. The cremation costs $3,000. The autopsy costs $3,000. Then, we will need an urn and some help with bills if at all possible. We are just doing the best we can right now. Trying to make sense of this, and grieving, and sorting out bills.

The mortuary is keeping his body in cold storage until we can arrange the autopsy and put the money in their hands. If anyone can assist us with the costs at all, it would help so incredibly much. Finances have been very difficult lately for us. Bruce loved you all, and we will see him again. God sees you and he knows your heart. Thank you.
