Cameron Swanson Cancer Treatment Journey

My name is is Jessica Barnett and I am Cameron Swanson’s 4-H Leader with the Cedar District and a long time family friend. Cameron is an outgoing, fun loving 14 year old. He had been suffering with headaches this past summer and on the night we were all headed to the Port Alberni fair with our

4-H animals he was in Cowichan Valley Hospital preparing for his flight to Children's Hospital in Vancouver for emergency Brain Surgery. He has been diagnosed with Medulloblastoma (brain cancer). He has undergone surgery to have the tumour removed, but has a long journey ahead of him. He is getting his passport prepared as he is headed to Seattle to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Treatment Centre- Proton Therapy. It is estimated that he will be there for 6 weeks at which point he will be back at children’s hospital in Vancouver to begin his chemotherapy treatments.

All funds raised will be used to assist in travel, food, and living expenses while receiving treatments in Seattle and in Vancouver. Also to cover medical costs that will not be covered during his treatment. Any additional funds will be donated to Vancouver Children's Hospital.
