Cameron the Cancer Conqueror
Donation protected
My 8-year-old nephew Cameron was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 T-Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma/Leukemia. Jessica brought Cameron into Urgent Care a couple of times for a dry cough for about 3 weeks, they tested him for COVID and sent home. Finally, on 2/23 when she brought him back to the urgent care they performed a chest CT which showed that he has a large 15 cm mass in his chest that is compressing on his airway (trachea) and partially on his superior vena cava (the large vein that returns blood to your heart). He was then transported to Texas Children's Hospital. He underwent a lymph node biopsy, bone marrow aspiration, and lumbar puncture and was diagnosed with lymphoma on 2/24. He had a PET scan to look to see if the cancer has spread to other parts of his body, which was negative! The prognosis is typically good for this type of cancer, but he still has a long road ahead of him. The next 6-7 months will include aggressive chemotherapy treatments several times a week, with the long-term plan being treatment for 2.5 years. He will not be able to go to school during this time due to his compromised immune system. My sister is his sole provider who will not be able to work during the next 6-7 months in order to be able to bring him to his treatments every week and to homeschool him. She has lost her job due to not being able to work full time, which means she has lost her insurance coverage.
I am asking you to please help my my sister during this challenging time by giving any amount that you can. She has medical expenses as well as living expenses that she is unable to pay for. Thank you, and I will update you on his progress through this website.
