Cameron’s Next KICK
Donation protected
Today, Cameron Dillon, Steve’s only son, turns 17 yrs old. Happy Birthday Cameron with all our love from Steve’ s family: Ronda, Dominic Sr., Dominic Jr and Joline Gosselin; Ronnie and Rachel, RJ and Aaron Dillon and his grandparents, Ron Dillon and Viola Norman.
Although Cameron would probably like to be making plans for the weekend to celebrate with family and friends, instead he is recovering from his first round of chemotherapy.
Several weeks ago as Cameron was preparing to begin Grade 12 at L’ Odyssee High School in Moncton and “kick off” his last season of high school football, he learned that he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. In Cameron’s case, he has bone cancer of the knee. Cameron’s cancer journey has already started at the IWK in Halifax and will require months of chemotherapy, followed by surgery early in the New Year, and then on to the next stages of his treatment. Cameron’s dreams were to play University football as the “kicker”, unfortunately, Cameron will have to ponder new dreams as he journeys through this new chapter in his life. Cameron is strong, positive and resilient and will no doubt “kick cancer”, design a new plan and create an amazing future.
So many people have already reached out to Cameron, Steve and family, with love and support, and have asked how they can help financially. It is your inspiration that helped Steve’s family to start the GoFundMe page. Any contribution to help with the cost of travel to and from the IWK in Halifax over the next year will go along way to help Steve, Cameron and his three sisters. It would be greatly appreciated if you can kindly share Cameron’s cancer story with family and friends.
