Cami "Kiri" "Tydal" Adams Memorial Fund

Donation protected
My wife Cami (AKA the smart dhole Kiri or the cute fuzzy yeen Tydal) and I travelled to Sweden to attend Nordic Fuzz Con. It was Cami's first trip to Europe, and she went as a collaborator with FurScience. Unfortunately, during the trip she ended up with an painful infection. The day before we were to fly home, the pain was so much that we took her to the hospital where they determined she needed to have surgery. The surgery was successful, but upon awakening her from the anesthetic, they found her cognitive state was not right and she wasn't responding to questions correctly. They sedated her and continued to investigate, finding swelling in her brain. Over the next week, she was looked at by every doctor in the Lund University Hospital, as they tried to piece together what happened and why it persisted. Meanwhile, her brain continued to swell and her condition worsened. On March 5th, they determined she was past the point of recovery and she passed away.

Cami leaves behind a bright and beautiful legacy. She was a graduate student in political science, studying the effects of social media on far-right activism. She was an award-winning writer and editor, as well as an activist for human rights for people of colour, people of all sexualities, and people of all genders. In the furry fandom, some knew her as Kirisis Alpinus, the fiery dhole who inspired people to be themselves and encouraging them to create and grow. Others knew her as Tydal Yeen, the bright-coloured hyena always happy to put smiles on people's faces and give gentle hugs. She was my best friend, the love of my life, and the person I wanted to grow old with together.

I've been in Sweden for over three weeks, visiting the hospital and now a funeral home to cremate her and bring her home. I'm looking for support towards the costs I've encountered for being here almost a month: help with hospital bills, cremation and funeral costs, costs to rent a place, and a flight home. If there's extra donations than what's needed, I would like to make a donation to a dhole sanctuary in her name as it was something she always wanted to support. If there's even support beyond that, I'd look into a scholarship as that was another avenue she was passionate about.

Thank you all for your support. The amount of love and messages that have been sent my way is unbelievable. It truly shows me how amazing a person she was when I see how many lives she touched.
