Camouflage Complex: The Art of Deception
Donation protected
You helped us to bring this ground-breaking opera to the Vancouver Public Library's Central Branch staircase on June 11th and 178 people sat, stood, or walked by this wonderful public space to hear and see—
Camouflage Complex: The Art of Deception, the one act opera based on Betsy Warland 's book Oscar of Between: A Memoir of Identity and Ideas. Composed by Lloyd Burritt, libretto by Lloyd & Betsy, follows a genderfluid protagonist as they navigate awkward, funny, and sometimes dangerous public interactions as a "person of between".
With the funds we received, we were able to pay the musicians, singers, and creative team. In addition, your generous response to our request for more help allowed us to hire a videographer, sound engineer and photographer to ensure the opera can travel further afield.
Now we're asking for $500 more as we prepare to send out a publicity package to theatre companies in Vancouver and further afield. We may also need to hire a fund-raiser for co-productions.
Thank you, your support truly means the world to us!
