Camp Mewata Fire Rebuild Fund

Camp Mewata has been a youth camp in the Okanagan for as long as I can remember. My family, as well as a full Campsite committee, has volunteered time to maintain the camp as since I was a baby. In this summer's West Kelowna Wild Fire, the entire upper site of the camp burn and was destroyed including a bunk house and toilet facility. The camp has been going through some tough financial times lately and with the extreme increase in insurance cost, we had to decide between liability insurance and building insurance this last year. We chose to go with the liability, and mother nature made us pay for the fact we had no fire insurance. The campsite committee have no fund left for any kind of rebuild. We will volunteer the labour, but we need funds for the materials. Please help restore this wilderness camp for the youth of the Okanagan.

Dan Hurd will use 100% of this money raised through GoFundMe and the donation on his website towards his efforts to return the camp to a usable state for the youth of this area.
