Camp Nathanael Legacy Picnic Table Project

Greetings,

Many of you may know that I have served as a noncom/camp counselor for the last two summers at Camp Nathanael, which is a boys christian summer camp in the Hinckley Minnesota area. The time I have spent there has been a life changing experience because of the long-term bonds I have formed with fellow believers, but more importantly because of God's work that I have been privileged to witness in the lives of the campers I and others have been able to serve. The program for a noncom lasts three years, and in between the second and third years of being a noncom, there is an opportunity to be a part of a off-season program called Legacy, where one of the pivotal pieces of the program is working on a service project at Camp Nathanael to improve the ministry and leave a legacy behind.

My plan for this spring is to build new picnic tables to replace several of them that are dilapidated from continual use. This is truly impactful on the experience of the ministry at Camp because these benches are where much of our spiritual interactions with campers happen. For example, our main bible study with campers is done at these tables. They are also used during our Father/Son camp weeks as the place where campers can connect with their fathers and form greater bonds with each other. It would not be an overstatement to say that picnic tables are an unremarkable, but still massively impactful part of fulfilling the mission of Camp Nathanael, which is winning and training boys for Christ.

There are a few ways that you can support the ministry at Camp Nathanael. First of all, prayer for the work being done at camp and that God will continue to work through this ministry and through me would be greatly appreciated. Another way that you could support Camp, and more specifically the project that I will be working on this spring, would be through a donation that can be used toward the replacement of old picnic tables around camp. The goal is to replace 15 aging picnic tables before this summer of ministry. The cost per picnic table is roughly $150 for materials and hardware.
