Camp No Limits Family Trip

Mason said the other day “I hope we go to camp again because then I’ll be somewhere where people don’t stare at me.” It broke this momma’s heart but on another level made me happy since we live close by to an excellent opportunity for Mason to feel “normal”. So, in February 2017, our family will be travelling 10 hours south to Ellenton, FL to attend Camp No Limits.
“Camp No Limits is the only camp for young people with limb loss & their families, creating a network of support for all the campers. Camp No Limits offers therapeutic programs with specialized professionals, including physical & occupational therapists, prosthetists & adult amputee role models.
All activities incorporate family members as well, with specific group sessions for siblings & parents when appropriate to address the needs of families living with individuals with limb loss.”
It will be Mason’s fourth time to camp but the FIRST time we will (hopefully) go as a family. Each person pays $500 to attend camp which will be $2000 for our family of 4. Also, we are asking for an additional $500 for travel expenses (gas, food, 2 hotel stays) as well as the opportunity to stay in our own room while at camp, instead of a bunk room with 40 other people. The funds are needed by January 20th.
This is difficult for us to ask for help, but this camp means so much to Mason that we are willing to reach out. We appreciate anything you are able to give and please know what a difference you will be making for Mason to feel accepted, for Randy and I to connect with other parents, and Aubrey as well to be able to do this with her big brother. (Just yesterday she put a “prosthetic fin” on her pet seal and she loves Winter the Dolphin almost as much as Mason. We'll get to visit Winter while we are down there!!)
Again, thank you for your consideration and support!
