SUPPORT TRANS ARTISTS, PERFORMERS AND WORKSHOP FACILITATORS
AND HELP CREATE A SPACE TO FACILITATE ART BY TRANS PEOPLE AND TO EXCHANGE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
We are planning a trans camping festival at the end of July 2022, Camp Trans! The festival consists of workshops, art performances and readings, and is run and staffed by trans people.
The goal of the festival is to strengthen the community of trans people, who as people of marginalized gender experience hostility and discrimination. The aim of the festival is to improve the lives of trans people. Through art, workshops and performances the festival seeks to create connections, foster friendships and community, and create a sense of belonging and understanding.
The festival will take place in the woods, where workshops and performances will be held. One workshop will focus on historical contextualizing of trans art and literature. Others on the participants' means of self-expression, artistic skill development of artistic skills and creativity.
The funding will be used to pay the artists and writers fairly and for expenses like equipment to facilitate the workshops and performances, the hire of the venue, security and catering. In order to make the event accessible for people of low income, the ticket price has to be kept to a minimum.
The money from the fundraiser will go to:
Venue Hire
2x Portable toilets
1 Electrical generator
Portable projector
Soundbox
Transportation of staff
Equipment and materials for workshops
Public Liability insurance
Salaries:
Performers and workshop facilitators.
Security and wellfare staff
Graphic design
Catering
