Camp Cooper Field Trip Experience

The fourth grade teachers at AC Corcoran Elementary would like to give our students the experience of a lifetime! Our wish is to take them to Camp Bob Cooper in the spring. When surveying our fourth graders, we became aware that only about four students in each class (20 out of 120 students!) had ever had an overnight camp experience. 
AC Corcoran is a Title I school located in North Charleston, South Carolina. Being a Title I school means that 90% of our students live below the poverty line and are eligible for free lunch. These students unfortunately do not get the same opportunities as other students in affluent districts. For most of them, going on this field trip would be something they would never forget. 
Camp Bob Cooper is located in Summerton, SC, nearby to Lake Marion. On this 3 day, 2 night field trip, the students will be immersed in hands- on, standards based learning involving science. Activities will include kayaking, archery, paintball, studying wildlife and ecology, and much more. Students will be required to solve mental and physical problems and work as a team to overcome challenges. 
In order to provide this amazing opportunity for our students, we need your help! We are asking for money to pay for the camp fees for each student. We have 70 students who are interested in going, and each fee is $115.  We need to raise these funds by February 1, 2017.
