Summit Mt Kilimanjaro: A Journey of Dreams

We are excited to share an extraordinary opportunity with you: Camping Noire has been invited to summit Mount Kilimanjaro in June 2024, and we need your support to make this once-in-a-lifetime journey a reality!

Who Are We?  Camping Noire is a NJ-based organization that curates nature immersion events for women of color to promote wellness, sisterhood, and adventure as well as increase the representation of black and brown bodies in green spaces. Our community is comprised of passionate nature lovers and adventure seekers. Our mission is to promote diversity and inclusion in outdoor adventures while fostering a deep connection with nature. We believe that everyone should have the chance to experience the magic of the great outdoors.

The Challenge: Summiting Kilimanjaro Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's tallest peak, is an icon of natural beauty and a symbol of the power of determination. Standing at 19,341 feet (5,895 meters), this dormant volcano in Tanzania presents an awe-inspiring challenge. We are honored to be invited to join Soraka's 1st all black female trek in June 2024, and our team of five intrepid adventurers is ready to take on this challenge. We invite you to join us on this incredible journey.

Why This Matters This journey is about more than just conquering a mountain. It's about breaking barriers, shattering stereotypes, and proving that anyone, regardless of their background, can achieve greatness when they set their mind to it. We aim to inspire individuals from underrepresented communities to embrace the outdoors and pursue their dreams.

Our Goal To make this expedition a reality for our team of 5, we need to raise approximately $18,000 USD. This will cover the cost of permits, guides, equipment, training, and travel expenses for our team. Your contribution will not only support our climb but also help us fund initiatives that encourage diversity in outdoor activities.
