Hamish's Camps International Cambodia 2025

Hi, I’m Hamish Law. I have recently signed up for a Camps International expedition to Cambodia in the summer of 2025. During this 4 week journey, I will be playing an active role in important community development work which will help to improve the lives of local people still feeling the effects of the Vietnam War, along with environmental and conservation projects. This expedition is a once in a lifetime opportunity and will help me to gain valuable volunteering experience and teach me independence and planning skills that I can carry into the future.

In order to raise money for this extraordinary experience, I will be challenging myself to reach all 56 publicly accessible Trig Points located around the Peak District. A trig point is a concrete pillar which was used in the 1930s to accurately determine the size and shape of the country to help develop Ordnance Survey maps.

I am also going to be working by doing odd jobs and fundraising activities such as car boot sales and stalls at events, as we are encouraged to raise as much money as we can in order to fund the expedition.
