Camps international Peru trip 2025

Hi, I'm Isla. I'm currently a year 10 student at Langley Park School for Girls in Beckenham, London. Recently an opportunity to go on a 4-week expedition to Peru in the summer of 2025 was given to me, let me tell you about it!

It is a 'service expedition' and would be taking place in the sacred valley area in Peru. I think it's an incredible opportunity and is something I would love to do, to help the communities in Peru and develop as a person along the way. After the pandemic, millions of people in Peru, unfortunately, fell below the poverty line and many communities fell into poverty, some don't have adequate schools for the developing children, have sanitary conditions or are malnourished from the lack of fresh food like fruit and vegetables. On this expedition, I would help improve these conditions for the Peruvian people as part of Camps International's scheme. For example, some projects that Camps International has helped with in the past are; building walls, building toilets, planting sustainable, fresh food and even small projects like mixing cement and deworming livestock. This expedition follows the UN's 'sustainable development goals' to ensure that no country is left behind.

I would be so proud to be able to help people this way and take part in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. All I'm asking for is a small donation (if you can) to help me be able to take part in this expedition. I will also be fundraising in different ways such as bake sales or sponsored walks etc. Any and all money donated will go towards the Peru trip, for the actual expedition as well as the resources used in the projects.

I will be climbing the 3 peaks in the uk as part of my fundraising efforts. I’m doing Snowdon in mid august, Scafell pike in October and Ben Nevis in spring 2025. Sponsor me to join me on the journey!!
