Cam’s Journey

Hi my name is Sierra and I’m married to my husband Cameron and we have three beautiful children our son Amir who’s 13 years old and Camryn and Camille our twins daughters who are 9 years old. My husband has been the main bread winner for our family for over 13 years and had recently been working for the post office for the last 7 years . All that changed back in the December of 2021; my husband Cameron and our entire family caught COVID 19. We thought we’re all ok after quarantine but in March we found out my husband had a blood clot in his lung, pneumonia and was now diagnosed with congestive heart failure which all could of stemmed from post COVID symptoms . The doctors immediately put him on medication and he had to wear a life vest for his heart. At that point we knew our life was changing dramatically. He had to immediately stop working and I then became the main one working. This caused a lot of financial strain because I was working only part time but we continued to press on. We had a couple hospital scares where he was in and out the hospital due to him having fluid on his lungs . On June 22, 2022 my husband had a routine doctors appointment that lead to him being hospitalized for observation. Upon test being ran the doctors told us his congestive heart failure had gotten so bad and he couldn’t leave because he couldn’t rely on medication any longer and needed to get a heart transplant. So now we are waiting for my husband to get a new heart . This is causing us financial strain because I’m not able to work because I’m here with him and taking care of children. This account is created to help us with taking care of our bills and clothing and other needs for our family during this difficult journey. He is not getting any pay from his job and due to me recently starting a new job we don’t have any benefits from mine either. We are grateful to everyone for all the support and donations that will bless our family during this hard time and hope his story will help other men out there to stay encouraged and want to take their health journey seriously.
