Can Mily Get a Lung Transplant?
Donation protected
I'm Tim, and I'm trying to help our friend Mily go to Mexico City for an important medical test. Mily is almost nine years old. (Mily is"ME-lee'" short for "Milagro" or"Miracle). She was born with Tetralogy of Fallot, epilepsy, and bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and she is autistic. She has a hard time breathing and her body has a difficult time circulating oxygenated blood. Life is hard for Mily and her grandmother who cares for her while her mother works.
We've known Mily for a few years and seen some real miracles happen -- including her getting an oxygen concentrator for her home and an air conditioner for her bedroom. Mily needs to go to Mexico City for a series of tests to determine if she's a candidate for a lung transplant. The trip is 13 hours by bus, the tests will take several days, and Grandma needs 35,000 Mexican pesos to make it happen -- about $2,100 U.S. dollars. I have documentation for all the costs, and we've been part of several of these trips. Everything is quite legitimate.
If you can help, please do. If you can't, would you consider sharing this?
