Can you help my friend Yael?

Donation protected
My wife Leeba Rosenthal asked me to set up this campaign page on behalf of her daughter (my step-daughter) Ariella:

Hi,
My name is Ariella B. and I live and grew up in Ramat Bet Shemesh in Israel, and went to high school in Yerushalayim.

I have a very close friend named Yael. Yael seems just like the rest of us, always smiling, busy with work and school, hard-working... but Yael isn’t like us.

In the beginning of eighth grade Yael’s mother passed away after battling a long illness leaving her family financially strained and bereaved.

In the end of eighth grade, her father - who himself had been weak much of his life - died from the stress of everything, and from a broken heart. In less than one year she lost both her parents and her home.

Yael and her siblings were shifted from place to place, after time some married and Yael, the youngest, lived in Bayit Lepletot, an orphanage in Jerusalem.

Yael had one dream: to marry and build the beautiful home that her mother AH had taught her to build. She worked hard in school, she literally put herself through college to get a degree in special education, and has been working with children with special needs for two years.

While many of our friends got engaged and married this last year, Yael waited patiently to find her "zivug" and just recently became engaged. Her chosson is a Baal Teshuva whose parents are wonderful, but cannot help enough financially to fill the void of the kallah’s side.

Yael has literally lived day to day most of her teen years, totally supporting herself, and has incredible bitachon. She has inspired all of us. Three of her four siblings are married and they are very close but they too struggle financially.

We, her friends, recently found out she went to NINE gmachs and they ALL turned her away, saying her story is so painful, she will surely get money from people and they have to help those who don’t have outside help.

So she and her brother have been trying to raise money to cover a very simple wedding and her basic needs. The wedding is this week!! March 31!

We have raised money for some of the most basic household items for their small apartment in Netivot (which is much cheaper than Yerushalayim) - a broom/dustpan, sponges, a toilet brush etc. More funds are still desperately needed to help cover the wedding costs of her simple wedding and to help get them started. Yael had to quit her job in Yerushalayim and is looking for a new one in Netivot, and until she has one things will be even more difficult. We aren’t looking to get anything extravagant, just basic items that every couple needs to start out.

Our goal is to raise at least 10,000 shekels before the end of her Sheva brachos, giving her the security to buy things that normally a kallah’s mother and father would help her with.
If you are able to help in any way, you would be part of an incredible thing - helping an orphan bride. Every single shekel helps! Unfortunately we can’t offer tax receipts, we are not a formal tsedaka or an organization; we are just Yael’s friends.

Thank you in advance and may you always be blessed with health and happiness!
Ariella B.
