Can you help our friend Neil Baker?

Hi my name is Jan and I'm trying to raise money for my good friend Neil Baker.

Neil is 64 years old and has been helping people all his life. He's not the person to ever ask for help so we are doing that for him given the urgency of his circumstances.

Neil is currently waiting for a hip surgery and is on a waiting list but he is now entirely crippled by the pain that he's now been forced to stop working much to his dismay. Without having savings in spite of working his whole life, we need to reach out to our wonderful community in a bid to raise money to help him cover his base costs until he has the surgery and recovers. We recognize that we are asking for a lot but unfortunately we have no other option but to hope for your help as we are scared of what will happen to him if he has no money to cover these essential costs during this time.

Neil has been living with his friend for the last 15 years after moving in with her under the arrangement he would take care of her. Helena has a brain injury. She's at the age of 76 now and even though Neil is in so much pain and barely able to help himself, he is more concerned about getting well enough again to care for her as well as he always has in order to avoid having to resort to her moving to a care home.

By doing this fundraiser we are trying to take some pressure off all the stress Neil is dealing with as of now. Although we can not help him with his intense pain, we hope that alleviating the financial strain will support better mental wellness until he can recover.

It's been really hard seeing Neil go from a passionate mountain fanatic to someone that is now mostly bed bound.
