Can you please help us help my dad

Hi, my name is Heidi and I am fundraising for my dad. He broke his hip and had to have surgery about a month ago. He is currently in a rehab facility learning how to stand and walk and do basic daily skills while only putting 25% weight bearing on his left leg. Unfortunately he has other health issues that make this even more challenging: He has stenosis in his lower back which is severely affecting his right leg, making it very weak. He also has a shunt in his head, do to water on the brain, which negatively affects his balance, making him a serious fall risk (which is actually how he broke his hip).

As if that isn’t enough, we now have an even more urgent matter to deal with. My dad is tentatively scheduled to be released in approximately 9 days, but has no way of getting into his own home. There are 7 steps leading up to the porch which may as well be a mountain in his condition. Because of the height and location of the steps, we aren’t able to have a ramp installed. After exhausting every avenue, the only option available is a wheelchair lift. The least expensive company we could find is $4,500 plus tax and s&h…which may as well be a mountain for us. But without this lift, I simply don’t know what we are going to do.
